December 2018 Builders Club

Building Christmas Cheer

Builders Club is a service organization for junior high school students. Members have fun building friendships, while making their community a better place. The time commitment is minimal, but the rewards are great. Builders Club builds leaders, character, community, confidence, and compassion.

The holiday greeting cards that Builders Club members created at our November meeting were a hit with local seniors. They sent the following expression of thanks: “Everyone from the Villas of Shelby would like to thank-you for the beautiful handmade Christmas Cards from the Heritage Builders Club. The cards will certainly put a smile on the Residents faces.”

Our December service project was a celebration of holiday gladness and children’s delight. Builders Club members participated in a gift exchange activity. All “gifts” were donated to the Toys for Tots drive at HJH. The 21 donations included games, dolls, books, Play-Doh, Nerf basketball and hoop, as well as art and craft activities and glitz and glamour kits.. During the remainder of the meeting, club members enjoyed socializing over snacks that they brought in to share. We appreciate the treats and offer a sincere thank you to parents who provided cookies, chips and donuts.

Plans for the January meeting include a kindness campaign for HJH students. Details will be finalized at the officers’ meeting during A lunch on January 8. All officers should plan to bring their lunch to Mrs. Curtis’ room on that day.

Tentative meeting dates for the 2018-2019 school year are listed below. Meeting times are 3:05-4:00 PM. Rides need to be at Heritage promptly at 4 PM.
