  • The Heritage Junior High School Science Olympiad placed among the top ten of all teams in the State of Michigan.
  • Eighteen of 21 students testing earned three or higher on the 2013 AP World History test, which could qualify them for college credit at many postsecondary institutions.
    Our success rate of 86 percent is well above the national average.
  • Heritage JHS was named a Michigan Green School for its successful recycling program.
  • Heritage was awarded a YALSA (Young Adult Library Services Association)
    Teen Read Week Grant.
  • The HJHS National Junior High Honor Society inducted 25 new members in 2013.
  • Several HJHS students earned individual first and second division ratings at the Michigan School Band and Orchestra Association (MSBOA) regional solo and ensemble festival. One of our students also received a first division rating at the MSBOA state festival.
  • The number of Heritage students taking advanced math has steadily increased.
  • Heritage students and staff support charities such as U.S. Marine Corps Toys for Tots, Kiwanis canned food drive, Pasta for Pennies (Leukemia and Lymphoma Society) and host two Red Cross blood drives a year.
